Heroes of Might and Magic II on Game Boy Color? Yeah, it’s the classic turn-based strategy game crammed into a tiny cartridge. You start by picking a faction—I always go for the knights because dragons are cool, but the wizards have some nasty spells too. The screen’s small, so you’ll be squinting at those pixelated towns and armies, but the core gameplay’s all there: building up your castle, recruiting troops, and outmaneuvering the AI on those grid-based maps.
It’s not as deep as the PC version, obviously, but it’s weirdly satisfying to play on the go. Just don’t expect the full soundtrack—you’ll mostly hear bleeps and bloops. Still, if you’re nostalgic for late ‘90s strategy or just want to see how they squeezed this onto a GBC, it’s a neat little time capsule.
