Okay, so this GBA version of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is way different than the console ones—it’s actually an action RPG with turn-based spell battles, which threw me off at first. You control Harry, Ron, and Hermione as a squad, swapping between them to solve puzzles and fight stuff like Blast-Ended Skrewts (those things are annoying).
The Triwizard Tournament bits are fun—you’re brewing potions, dodging dragons, all that—but the real surprise was how much the game leans into spell combos. Like, yeah, you can spam Expelliarmus, but mixing Incendio with Hermione’s freeze spell actually does cool stuff. The pixel art’s surprisingly detailed for a GBA game, too, especially the Durmstrang ship.
It’s not perfect—some of the dungeon crawling drags—but if you’re into Potter stuff and old-school handheld games, it’s a solid play. Just don’t expect Quidditch.
