Man, this GBC version of Chamber of Secrets takes me back. It’s not just some lazy movie tie-in—you actually get to explore Hogwarts, sneak around Filch, and duel with wands in turn-based battles (which sounds weird but works surprisingly well). The pixel art somehow nails the castle’s vibe, especially when you’re creeping through secret passages or brewing potions in Snape’s dungeon.
First thing you’ll notice? The spell-casting. You trace these little rune shapes with the D-pad instead of just pressing a button, which makes even basic stuff like Lumos feel satisfying. And yeah, you get to fly a broom—controls are janky by modern standards, but nailing a perfect Quidditch dive still feels awesome.
It’s got that classic GBC charm where everything’s simplified but weirdly deep. Like, who knew collecting Bertie Bott’s beans would become an obsession? Just don’t expect the story to hold your hand—you’ll be talking to every portrait and prefect to figure out where to go next.
