About Happy Feet
Happy Feet on the Game Boy Advance came out in 2006, developed by A2M. It was one of many licensed games on the system, based on the animated movie. You play as Mumble, the penguin who can't sing but has some serious dance moves.
You control Mumble through side scrolling levels, mostly running and sliding across the ice. The main goal is to progress through each stage, avoiding seals and other hazards while collecting fish. The signature mechanics are the rhythm based dance sequences; you hit buttons in time with on screen prompts to defeat enemies or open new paths. You also explore different environments, from the icy plains to underwater areas, which breaks up the platforming. The game has a steady pace, but some of the timing in the dance sections can be tricky. It feels like a straightforward adventure that captures the movie's energy.
