About Hang-on
Hang-On came out for the Sega Master System, developed and published by Sega. It was one of the earlier games for the system, a straightforward motorcycle racing title that didn't try to be anything more than that. You got what you saw on the box: a fast bike and a winding road.
You control a motorcycle racer leaning into turns to avoid other bikes and the roadside. The main goal is to finish each course before the timer runs out. The signature mechanics are the leaning, which you control by moving left or right, and the shifting sense of speed as the landscape rushes by. The game moves quickly, and the difficulty comes from the tight corners and the traffic that suddenly appears. It feels like you are constantly fighting to keep the bike on the road.
