Hamtaro: Rainbow Rescue is one of those weirdly charming GBA games where you play as a tiny hamster on a mission to collect colorful objects—like flowers, ribbons, and random trinkets—to build a rainbow for Prince Bo. It sounds simple, but there’s something oddly satisfying about running around as Hamtaro, chatting with other hamsters (yes, they have their own language), and solving little puzzles to unlock new areas.
The whole thing leans hard into friendship and teamwork, so you’ll recruit other hamsters with different abilities to help out. Some can dig, others can push stuff—it’s cute without being overly cheesy. The world’s small but packed with little secrets, and the art style holds up surprisingly well for a GBA title. If you’ve got nostalgia for early 2000s hamster adventures, this one’s a solid pick.
