I picked up The Grinch for my Game Boy Color back in 2000, a game developed by Artificial Mind and Movement and published by Konami. It was one of many licensed titles from that era, a time when you'd often find movie-based games sitting on the store shelf next to more original adventures. This one caught my eye simply because I enjoyed the film.

You control the Grinch himself, moving screen by screen through Whoville with the goal of stealing every last Christmas present, decoration, and tree. Your main actions involve sneaking past the watchful Whos, using a slingshot to break objects from a distance, and solving simple environmental puzzles, like finding a key to unlock a gate. The pacing is steady, not particularly difficult, but it requires some patience to figure out the order of operations in each area. Playing it feels like you are methodically dismantling the holiday, one stolen trinket at a time.
