I picked up Gremlins: Stripe vs Gizmo for the Game Boy Advance back when it came out. It was published by Sony Imagesoft, which felt like a strange fit for a Nintendo handheld, but it was a licensed game from that era where you saw a lot of them. The GBA had a ton of these side scrolling platformers based on movies, and this one let you choose between the two most recognizable characters from the film.

You can play as either Gizmo, the good Mogwai, or his nemesis Stripe. The goal is straightforward: navigate through multi screen levels, defeat the enemies that pour out, and reach the exit. Gizmo uses a bow and arrow for ranged attacks, while Stripe relies on a quicker, close range slash. You collect items and power ups scattered through the stages, which often involve some light puzzle solving to progress. The game moves at a brisk pace and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly in later areas, demanding quick reflexes. Controlling your chosen Mogwai through the chaotic levels feels responsive, making each successful run satisfying.
