I picked up Gremlins for the Game Boy Color a while back. It came out in 1990 from Sunsoft, right when handheld gaming was starting to get more ambitious with color. This was one of those titles that felt like it was trying to capture a movie license in a classic adventure format, fitting right in with the platform's library at the time.

You control Billy Peltzer, moving him screen by screen through a town overrun by the creatures. The main goal is to rescue your girlfriend and stop the gremlin invasion. You use a sword for close combat and a crossbow for hitting enemies from a distance. A lot of the game is about exploring these interconnected areas, finding keys to unlock doors, and figuring out the layout. It moves at a steady pace, but some of the enemy patterns and jumps can be tricky, making you pay attention to your positioning. Playing it feels like a methodical hunt through a chaotic, monster-filled neighborhood.
