Great Baseball Game

Man, Great Baseball on the Sega Master System takes me back. It’s got that classic arcade baseball feel—simple controls, chunky pixels, and that satisfying thwack when you nail a fastball. The fielders move like they’re stuck in molasses sometimes, but that just adds to the chaos when you’re trying to stretch a single into a double.
Pitching’s basic—fastball or curve—but timing your swing actually matters, which is rare for an 8-bit sports game. I always went for the power hitter, even though half the time I’d sky it straight to the outfield. And yeah, the AI isn’t exactly a genius (bunt spam works way too well), but there’s something weirdly charming about how janky the runner animations are when they round third.
It’s not deep, but for a quick game with a friend? Still holds up better than it has any right to.
