Grand Theft Auto Game

Okay, so GTA on Game Boy Color is way more chaotic than you’d expect from a tiny cartridge. You’ve got the same top-down crime spree action as the original PC version, just pixelated and somehow even more reckless. The controls take a second to get used to—steering feels a little stiff at first, but once you’re weaving through traffic and dodging cops, it clicks.
The city’s split into three districts, and honestly, the first one’s kind of a mess with its tight streets. But that’s where half the fun is—plowing through pedestrians in a stolen sports car while sirens blare in the distance. Missions pop up at phone booths, and yeah, some of them are brutal (good luck with that timed bank job).
It’s janky, it’s loud, and the soundtrack is basically just engine noise and police scanners. But there’s something weirdly satisfying about causing absolute havoc on a 2-inch screen. Just don’t expect it to play like the later 3D GTAs—this one’s pure, unfiltered chaos.
