Golvellius is this weird little gem on the Master System that feels like Zelda got mixed with a side-scroller halfway through development. You start off in an overworld that’s pure top-down adventure—sword swinging, bushes getting slashed, the usual—but then suddenly you’re dropping into caves or towers where the perspective flips to side-view. It’s jarring at first, but kinda cool once you get used to it.

The dungeons are packed with traps, weird enemies (some just float at you menacingly), and upgrades hidden in the most random spots. The desert area is brutal—those sand pits will swallow you whole if you’re not careful. And yeah, the graveyard? Creepy as hell, with ghosts that love to ambush you mid-jump. It’s got that old-school "figure it out yourself" vibe, but the music slaps, and the bosses are surprisingly creative for an 8-bit game.

Just don’t expect it to hold your hand—half the fun is getting lost and stumbling onto secrets.
