Golden Goal is one of those classic Game Boy Color football games that feels both simple and weirdly addictive. You pick from a handful of European national teams (Germany, Italy, etc.), and the controls are basic—pass, shoot, tackle—but matches get surprisingly tense. The pixelated players move in this stiff, almost comical way, yet somehow it still captures that "one more match" energy.

Scoring feels satisfying, especially when you pull off a long-range shot that somehow sneaks past the keeper. The AI isn’t exactly brilliant, but it’s decent enough for quick handheld matches. And yeah, the commentary is just text popping up, but seeing "GOOOOAL!" flash after a last-minute winner never gets old.

Definitely a nostalgia trip if you grew up with GBC sports games—just don’t expect FIFA-level realism.
