Global Defense Game

Global Defense on the Sega Master System is one of those weird little arcade-style games that somehow sticks with you. You're basically in charge of this defense turret, blasting away at waves of enemies—some crawl along the ground, others swoop in from above, and if you're not quick, they'll slip past your defenses. The controls are dead simple (just aim and shoot), but the challenge ramps up fast.
What I love is how unapologetically old-school it feels. No tutorials, no hand-holding—just you, a joystick, and a growing sense of panic as the screen fills up. The pixel art has that chunky, colorful charm, and the sound effects are pure 8-bit nostalgia. It’s the kind of game where you’ll fail a dozen times before figuring out the rhythm, but that first time you clear a tough wave? Pure satisfaction.
If you’ve got a soft spot for retro arcade shooters or just want to see what gaming was like before save points and microtransactions, give this one a spin. Just don’t blame me when you lose track of time going for "one more try."
