Gex: Enter The Gecko on Game Boy Color is one of those weird, charming platformers that just oozes late '90s energy. You play as a wisecracking gecko who runs, jumps, and whips enemies with his tail through these surreal, TV-themed worlds—think cheesy sci-fi sets, cartoonish jungles, and other bizarre backdrops. The controls take a minute to get used to (that tongue attack has some weird range), but once it clicks, you’ll be bouncing off walls and stomping bad guys like a pro.

It’s not the hardest game out there, but some of those later levels get surprisingly tricky with hidden collectibles and sneaky enemy placements.
