Get Ride AMDriver is one of those weird, late-era GBA mech games that never made it outside Japan—which is a shame, because it’s got this weirdly satisfying mix of arcade-style combat and RPG elements. You pilot these transforming mechs called AMDrivers, switching between vehicle and battle modes mid-fight, and the controls actually feel surprisingly smooth for a handheld game.
First few minutes throw you into a city under attack, and you’re immediately juggling between dodging missiles in car form and flipping to robot mode to punch giant monsters. The sprites are chunky but detailed, and there’s something hilarious about watching your mech dramatically pose after wrecking enemies. The caravan mode’s basically a survival gauntlet, and it gets brutal fast—bring snacks.
Definitely one of those hidden gems if you’re into mecha or just want something different from the usual GBA lineup.
