Genseishin Justirisers - Souchaku Chikyuu No Senshitachi (j)(caravan) Game

Genseishin Justirisers is one of those early 2000s GBA games that flew under the radar outside Japan. It's a side-scrolling action brawler based on the Justirisers tokusatsu series—think Power Rangers but with more dramatic cape flourishes.
You pick between three warriors (I always went with the sword guy because his special move looks ridiculous in the best way) and punch through waves of rubber-suited monsters. The sprites are chunky and satisfying, especially when you trigger a team-up attack and the screen fills with explosions. It's not deep, but there's something charming about how over-the-top it gets by the third stage.
Fair warning: the text is all in Japanese, but menus are simple enough to muscle through. The music slaps, though—that crunchy GBA synth really sells the superhero vibe.
