Alright, so Garfield and His Nine Lives on the GBA is exactly what it sounds like—a weird, kinda janky, but weirdly charming little platformer where you play as the world’s laziest cat. The whole "nine lives" gimmick means each level throws you into a completely different scenario, like fighting off mutant spiders in a haunted house (why is Garfield even there?) or floating around in zero gravity because, sure, space Garfield is a thing now.
The controls take a second to get used to—Garfield moves like he just ate three lasagnas, which, fair. But once you adjust, there’s something oddly satisfying about bouncing on enemies or solving puzzles by, say, stacking random objects to reach a giant donut. The art style nails the comic’s vibe, and the humor’s exactly what you’d expect: dry, sarcastic, and full of "I hate Mondays" energy.
It’s not the deepest game, but if you grew up with the comics or just want something silly to kill time, this one’s got a weird kind of charm. Just don’t expect it to reinvent the wheel—it’s Garfield being Garfield, and that’s enough.
