Gangster Town on the Sega Master System is one of those weirdly charming light gun games where you play as a fedora-wearing mobster blasting your way through waves of rival gangsters and cops. The pixel art has that rough 80s arcade vibe—think blocky suits, flickering neon signs, and bullets that look like little white squares.

You start off with just a pistol, ducking behind crates while thugs pop out of windows and alleys. The aiming feels janky by today’s standards, but there’s something satisfying about nailing a perfect shot just as some goon leans out of a car window. Later levels throw curveballs like grenades and even a helicopter chase. It’s short, chaotic, and exactly the kind of game you’d dump quarters into at a pizza place arcade corner.

Fair warning: the hit detection can be brutal, and the soundtrack is basically the same 30-second loop of synth trumpets. But if you’re into retro shooters with more attitude than polish, this one’s a blast.
