Oh man, Ganbare Goemon on Game Boy Color—this one's a weird little side-scroller where you play as the blue-haired ninja Goemon bouncing around feudal Japan. It's got that classic Konami charm, but honestly? The controls feel a bit slippery compared to the SNES games. You'll be hopping between rooftops, whipping out your pipe to smack ghosts and yokai, and occasionally riding this giant... catfish robot thing? Yeah, it's as bizarre as it sounds.
First few minutes in, you're dodging umbrella spirits and collecting coins while the soundtrack blares that unmistakable Goemon-style shamisen rock. The pixel art's colorful, though some of the platforming can be frustrating when you miss a jump because Goemon slides like he's on ice. Still, if you're into retro oddities or just love the series, it's got that goofy personality the Goemon games are known for.
Definitely more of a curiosity than the best in the franchise, but worth a look if you're already a fan.
