Oh man, Ganbare Goemon on Game Boy Color—this one's a weird little gem. You play as Goemon, this blue-haired ninja dude who runs around smacking enemies with his pipe, and the whole thing has that classic Konami charm. The levels are short but packed with secrets, and there's this goofy sense of humor where you'll find random stuff like giant robots just hanging out in feudal Japan.
Controls take a minute to get used to—jumping feels a little floaty at first, but once you figure out the rhythm, bouncing between platforms while whacking enemies becomes oddly satisfying. The pixel art holds up surprisingly well, especially the expressive character sprites when they react to getting hit.
It's not the deepest game, but it's got personality for days. Perfect for quick sessions when you want something light and nostalgic.
