Okay, so Galidor: Defenders of the Outer Dimension on GBA is one of those weird early 2000s tie-in games that somehow ended up being way more fun than it had any right to be. You play as Nick Bluetooth (yes, that’s his actual name), jumping between these bizarre alien worlds that feel like someone dumped a bucket of neon paint over a sci-fi comic book.
The combat’s simple but satisfying—you’ve got this mix of melee combos and weird energy blasts, and figuring out which move stuns which enemy is half the fun. The levels are packed with little secrets, too. I remember getting stuck for ages in some jungle zone because I missed a hidden switch behind a waterfall. Classic GBA jank.
It’s definitely got that "licensed game" vibe, but in a good way—like the developers actually cared. The story’s nonsense, but the kind of nonsense where you just roll with it. If you dig cheesy early 2000s action-platformers, this one’s a surprisingly solid time-waster.
