GB Harobots is one of those weird little Game Boy Color mech games that never left Japan—which is a shame, because it’s got this clunky charm to it. You pilot these blocky robots through short missions, swapping parts between battles to tweak your loadout. The controls take some getting used to (expect a lot of awkward jumping at first), but once it clicks, there’s something satisfying about how weighty the robots feel.

It’s not deep, but the pixel art has personality, and the missions throw in just enough variety to keep you from getting bored. If you’re into obscure retro mech games, this one’s worth a look—just don’t expect a masterpiece. The music’s surprisingly catchy, though.
