Players control a faction with the objective of mining the most metal from a planetoid within a 24-turn limit. To achieve this, they command a fleet of military units including tanks, super tanks, and attack boats, alongside support vessels like barges and carrier units known as crabs. Gameplay involves managing two primary systems: resource collection by harvesting ore deposits and tactical combat to eliminate opposing forces and seize their production capabilities. Progression is structured through sequential turns, with players alternating moves across a hexagonal grid to position their units for mining operations or engagements.

The turn-based system incorporates specific mechanics for movement and combat. Movement points can be pooled and allocated entirely to a single unit if desired, allowing for concentrated advances. Combat requires at least two armed vehicles to be within range of a target, and areas covered by these attacking units create zones that restrict enemy movement on their following turn, unless a special maneuver is used. Environmental factors such as tidal changes affect terrain, potentially stranding naval units or submerging ground forces.
