Front Line - The Next Mission (japan) Game

Front Line - The Next Mission is one of those classic Game Boy Color shooters that feels like a stripped-down arcade throwback. You start off in a little tank, rolling through enemy territory while blasting everything that moves—soldiers, helicopters, the works. Controls are simple (d-pad to move, buttons to shoot), but it gets chaotic fast when enemies swarm from all sides.
It’s got that old-school Japan-only charm, with tiny sprites and chunky explosions. Not gonna lie, the first time I played, I got wrecked in like 30 seconds because I didn’t realize some enemies drop power-ups if you hit them just right. Once you get the hang of it, though, there’s something satisfying about clearing a screen before moving to the next zone.
Definitely a niche pick if you’re into retro handheld action, but it’s got that “just one more try” energy when you’re waiting for a bus or whatever.
