About From Tv Animation One Piece - Maboroshi No Grand Line Boukenki! (japan)
I picked up From TV Animation One Piece - Maboroshi No Grand Line Boukenki! a while back, a Japan only Game Boy Color title from 2001. It was developed by Alpha Unit and published by Bandai, landing right in the middle of the handheld's life when licensed anime games were a common sight. It felt very much of its time, a pocket adventure you'd play on the go.
You control Luffy, navigating him screen by screen across an overworld map and through side scrolling areas. The main goal is to find your scattered crew members, like Zoro and Nami, who are lost somewhere on the Grand Line. Your primary actions involve using Luffy's stretchy arms for basic combat against marine grunts and minor pirates, and you solve simple environmental puzzles, often by stretching to hit distant switches or grab items. The pacing is fairly straightforward, though some of the exploration can feel a bit aimless without a clear guide. It's a simple, uncomplicated game that captures the feeling of a small scale pirate hunt.
