About Freestyle Scooter (e)(gbatemp)
Freestyle Scooter was a European release for the Game Boy Advance, though I don't recall the developer offhand. It came out during that era when the GBA was full of licensed titles and extreme sports games trying to capture a younger audience. This one fit right into that mix, a game built around performing scooter tricks.
You control a rider on a scooter, navigating through different urban environments. The main goal is to complete levels by reaching the end, but the real focus is on pulling off tricks to build your score. You perform grinds on rails and ledges, and launch off ramps to get air for grabs and flips. The levels are designed with specific lines and trick opportunities, so you learn the best routes through repetition. It can be challenging to link tricks smoothly without bailing, and the physics feel a bit stiff. The satisfaction comes from finally nailing a clean run and seeing your score climb.
