About Freekstyle (e)(rising Sun)
Freekstyle came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2004, developed by EA Seattle and published by Electronic Arts. It was part of that wave of extreme sports games that tried to capture the feel of console titles on a handheld, fitting right in with other arcade racers of the era.
You control a motocross rider, racing on twisting, gravity-defying tracks. The main goal is to win each race by finishing first, pulling off tricks in the air to build up your boost meter. Two key mechanics are the trick system, where you press combinations of buttons to perform stunts, and the boost, which you use for a sudden burst of speed. The game moves fast, and the later tracks get pretty tough, demanding precise landings to avoid crashing. It feels like a constant, frantic push to stay in control while flying off jumps.
