Flushed Away on GBA is one of those weird little licensed games that actually holds up. You play as Roddy, the pampered pet rat who gets—you guessed it—flushed into the sewer, where everything’s grimy, British, and full of frogs with terrible French accents.
The first thing you’ll notice is how much it nails the movie’s art style, even on the tiny screen. The sewer levels twist and turn with these gross-but-cute details, like floating bits of... whatever that is. Movement’s snappy, and Roddy’s got this satisfying little jump that makes platforming feel just right.
It’s not all running and jumping, though. There are these weird little minigames—like steering Rita’s boat through rapids or dodging sludge—that pop up unexpectedly. Some are fun, some make you groan, but they keep the pace from getting stale. And yeah, the humor’s cheesy, but in that way where you smirk despite yourself.
Honestly, it’s a solid pick if you’re into early 2000s platformers with personality. Just maybe don’t play it while eating.
