Final Fantasy V Advance is one of those classic JRPGs that somehow flew under the radar compared to its siblings, but man, it’s got charm. The job system here is ridiculously fun—you start as a basic freelancer, but before long you’re mixing knight skills with black magic or turning your thief into a ninja who can dual-wield swords. It’s the kind of game where you’ll spend way too much time just tinkering with builds.

The GBA version adds some nice extras, like extra dungeons and jobs (hello, Gladiator and Cannoneer), though the translation can feel a little stiff if you’re used to modern localizations. Still, the pixel art holds up beautifully, and that SNES-era soundtrack? Chef’s kiss. If you’ve ever wanted to see what happens when you cross a dragoon with a white mage, this is your playground.

Fair warning: the first hour is a bit slow, but once the job system opens up, it’s hard to put down.
