Fantastic 4: Flame On came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2005, published by Activision. It was one of many licensed games on the system, arriving around the time of the movie. You get to play as the four main heroes from the comics, each with their own set of moves and attacks.

You control the team through side scrolling levels, switching between Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch, and the Thing to solve puzzles and fight enemies. The main goal is to stop Doctor Doom, which means working through a series of stages, beating up thugs and robots, and dealing with environmental obstacles. Signature mechanics include using each character's specific power to progress; for example, Mr. Fantastic can stretch across gaps, and the Thing can smash through certain walls. The game is structured around defeating all the enemies in a room before you can move to the next screen, which can make the pacing feel a bit stop and start. It's not an easy game, with some tricky platforming and enemy patterns to learn. Playing it feels like managing a small, bickering superhero team on a clunky but determined mission.
