About Fancy Pocket
Fancy Pocket came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2000, a time when developers were pushing the hardware with more ambitious titles. I don't recall the developer's name offhand, but it was part of that wave of games trying to capture the feel of console adventures on a handheld.
You control a young explorer navigating a series of interconnected, screen by screen environments. The main goal is to find and assemble the scattered pieces of a mystical artifact. Your primary tools are a sword for close combat and a bow for hitting distant switches and enemies. You spend a lot of time in multi level dungeons, solving environmental puzzles that often involve pushing blocks or using your items in sequence. The pacing is deliberate, and some of the later puzzles require careful observation. It feels like a quiet, methodical test of your wits.
