Alright, so this is the GBA port of the original NES Zelda—the one that started it all. You know the drill: grab your sword, wander into caves, and get wrecked by Octoroks until you figure out the rhythm of combat. The overworld feels huge when you first start, especially since the game just drops you in with zero handholding. Good luck finding that first dungeon without burning every bush.

The dungeons are these perfect little mazes of secrets and switches, and the music? Still iconic. Yeah, the graphics are basic by today’s standards, but there’s something satisfying about uncovering hidden rooms or finally getting the bow after scraping together enough rupees. Just don’t expect waypoints or quest markers—this is pure, old-school "figure it out or die trying" energy.

If you’ve only played the newer Zeldas, it’s wild to see how much of the series’ DNA was already here in 1986. You’ll either love the freedom or rage-quit before the first dungeon. No in-between.
