This is the GBA port of the classic Famicom game Ganbare Goemon! – a weird, charming action-platformer starring Japan's favorite blue-haired ninja. You'll bounce between towns smashing pots for coins, then hit side-scrolling stages full of traps, enemies, and those little umbrella guys who just won't leave you alone.

The controls take some getting used to (throwing coins as your main attack feels odd at first), but once it clicks, there's something satisfying about the rhythm of platforming and combat. Some of the later stages get brutal with instant-death pits and tricky jumps, so expect to retry a few times.

It's got that classic NES quirkiness – one minute you're fighting samurai, the next you're riding a giant robot through a castle. Definitely one of the more unique retro titles in the Famicom Mini series.
