About Fifa Soccer 07
FIFA Soccer 07 came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2006, developed by EA Canada. It was one of the last FIFA titles for the handheld, arriving when the Nintendo DS was already gaining ground. This version tried to squeeze a console style football experience into the GBA's small screen and limited hardware.
You control a team of eleven players, passing and shooting to score goals against the opposition. The main objective is to win matches across various cups and leagues. Signature mechanics include using the shoulder buttons for through passes and lobbed through balls, which are essential for breaking defensive lines. You also manage player stamina and can execute sliding tackles to regain possession. The pacing is generally quick, though the controls can feel a bit stiff compared to later games. It feels satisfying to string together a good passing move and finally slot the ball past the keeper.
