About Emperor's New Groove
I remember picking up Emperor's New Groove for the Game Boy Color back in 2000. It was one of those Disney platformers that came out around the time of the movie, published by Disney Interactive. On a system filled with colorful cartridges, it was a familiar sight, another licensed title trying to capture the film's humor and adventure on the small screen.
You control Kuzco, the emperor transformed into a llama, and your goal is to get back to the palace to become human again. The game plays out screen by screen; you run, jump across gaps, and headbutt enemies like guards and animals. You also collect golden sun symbols to open doors and progress. The pacing is straightforward, but some jumps require precise timing, and the enemy placement can get tricky in later areas. It feels like a brisk, sometimes challenging trek through the jungle and palace grounds.
