Elemix is one of those weird little GBA puzzle games that never left Japan—which is a shame, because it’s actually pretty clever. You’re dropping colored orbs onto a grid, trying to match three of the same element, but the twist is that combining certain elements creates new ones (fire + water = steam, that kind of thing). Starts simple, then suddenly you’re scrambling to chain reactions before the screen fills up.

The controls are tight, the music’s got that classic GBA synth charm, and there’s just enough strategy to keep you from brute-forcing your way through. Feels like a lost cousin of Panel de Pon or Magical Drop, if you’re into that vibe. Definitely worth a look if you dig retro puzzlers with a bit of alchemy thrown in.
