Elemix! was a Game Boy Advance title released in 2000. It came out during a period when developers were exploring how to translate complex puzzle mechanics onto the handheld's small screen. The game was developed by a studio focused on logic and pattern recognition challenges.

You control a small cursor, moving it across a grid to swap adjacent elemental tiles. The main goal is to clear each stage by creating matches of three or more identical elements, which then disappear from the board. Two signature mechanics involve creating chain reactions; when tiles above fall into place, they can trigger new matches automatically. Another key feature is the special elemental tile that clears entire rows or columns when matched. The pacing is deliberate, with later stages introducing locked tiles or a move limit that demands careful planning. It feels satisfying to set off a long cascade and watch the board resolve itself.
