Ecks Vs Sever II: Ballistic on the GBA is one of those games that makes you forget you're holding a tiny handheld. You pick either Ecks or Sever—both feel different, which is cool—and then it's just non-stop shootouts in tight corridors, rooftops, you name it. The controls take a second to get used to, but once you do, the gunplay actually feels pretty solid for a GBA title.
What surprised me was how much the story tries to pull you in between missions. It's not just mindless shooting—there's this whole spy vs. spy tension going on, complete with dramatic cutscenes that somehow work on that little screen. Some of the later levels get brutal with enemy placement, so bring patience if you're going for the full clear.
Definitely one of the better action games on the system if you're into this kind of thing. Just don't expect Call of Duty—it's got that early 2000s portable charm.
