About Espn Final Round Golf 2002
ESPN Final Round Golf 2002 came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, published by Konami. It was part of a wave of sports titles trying to capture a realistic feel on the handheld, a time when developers were figuring out how to fit a full golf simulation into your pocket. You did not get a deep career mode or a huge roster of real players, but the focus was squarely on the mechanics of swinging a club.
You control a golfer from a top-down perspective on the fairway, switching to a side view for putting. Your main goal is to complete each 18-hole course under par, managing your club selection and reading the green breaks. The swing mechanic uses a three-click system: one press to start the power meter, another to set the power, and a final click to determine accuracy. Wind direction and strength visibly affect your ball in flight, and you can apply spin to shape your shots after they land. The game moves at a deliberate pace, demanding careful calculation on longer holes, and the challenge comes from consistently executing your shots rather than from aggressive opponents. It feels satisfying to watch a well-planned drive land exactly where you aimed, setting up a clean approach to the green.
