Okay, so this is the GBA version of the infamous E.T. game—you know, the one that supposedly buried a truckload of unsold cartridges in the desert back in the day. This handheld version is... well, it exists. You play as E.T. trying to phone home (obviously), but instead of falling into pits every five seconds like the Atari original, it’s a weird mix of platforming and fetch quests. The controls are still kinda janky, and the levels feel like they were designed by someone who’d only heard of video games secondhand. Nostalgia might carry you through the first 10 minutes, but after that, you’ll probably just laugh at how awkward it all is. At least the sprite work isn’t terrible.
