E.t. And The Cosmic Garden Game

Okay, so E.T. and the Cosmic Garden is this weirdly charming little Game Boy Color gem where you basically help E.T. rebuild his space garden. You know, the one he probably misses after getting stranded on Earth in the movie? The pixel art’s surprisingly lush for a GBC title—lots of purples and greens that pop even on that tiny screen.
Gameplay’s a mix of light platforming and puzzle-solving. You’re hopping between planets (some gravity stuff feels janky at first, but you get used to it), pushing blocks to unlock new areas, and collecting these glowing alien plants. There’s one level where you’re dodging floating asteroids while E.T.’s neck stretches like a rubber band—kinda hilarious.
It’s got that classic "Nintendo hard" vibe in spots, especially when you’re trying to line up jumps with the game’s slightly floaty controls. But if you grew up with the movie or just dig retro handheld quirks, it’s a neat time capsule. The ending’s sweet, too—no spoilers, but let’s just say someone finally gets their garden (and maybe a ride home).
