Duke Nukem Advance is exactly what you'd expect—crude, loud, and packed with enough firepower to make a Doom marine jealous. You start off in some grimy city street, aliens pouring in from every direction, and Duke just casually drops a one-liner before blasting them to bits. The pixel art holds up surprisingly well for a GBA title, and the controls are tight enough that you won’t miss a mouse and keyboard.
It’s got all the classic weapons—shotgun, pipe bombs, even a shrink ray—and the levels are just chaotic enough to keep you on your toes without feeling unfair. Some of the humor hasn’t aged great, but if you’re here for mindless alien-shooting action, it absolutely delivers. Just don’t expect deep storytelling—Duke’s more about kicking ass than monologues.
If you’ve got a soft spot for retro shooters or just want to relive some early 2000s edge, this one’s a blast. Literally.
