About Driv3r
Driv3r on the Game Boy Advance came out in 2005 from Reflections Interactive. It was a time when developers were trying to fit big console driving experiences onto the small screen, and this was their attempt to bring the open world car chases to a handheld. You knew you were getting a simplified version, but the ambition was still there.
You control an undercover cop named Tanner, and your main job is to complete missions that involve driving and shooting. The game is structured around specific objectives you must finish to progress the story. Signature mechanics include stealing any car you see to use for your pursuits and engaging in on foot combat with a targeting system for shooting enemies. The pacing can be uneven, with some missions feeling straightforward and others becoming difficult due to the controls or the sheer number of opponents. Playing it feels like managing a chaotic situation with limited tools.
