Driv3r came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2005, published by Atari. It was part of that wave of games trying to bring big console experiences to the handheld, a time when you saw a lot of ambitious ports. This version was a different take on the open world driving and shooting action of its console counterparts.

You control undercover cop Tanner, working to infiltrate a car theft ring. The main goal is to complete missions that advance the story, which involves a mix of driving and on foot sections. Signature mechanics include stealing specific vehicles to fulfill mission requirements and engaging in shootouts with enemy gang members. The driving feels arcade like, focusing on chases and escapes, while the on foot combat uses an auto aim system to handle enemies. The pacing can be uneven, with some missions feeling straightforward and others becoming difficult due to the limited perspective and controls. Navigating the city between objectives gives you a sense of the scope they were aiming for on the small screen.
