I remember picking up Dragon's Lair for the Game Boy Color back in 2001. It was a Kemco release, one of many action-adventure titles trying to capture that Zelda-like feel on the handheld. The graphics were colorful for the system, using its limited palette to create a decent fantasy world you could carry in your pocket.

You control a young hero named Dirk on a quest to rescue Princess Daphne from a dragon. The game plays out screen by screen; you explore these interconnected areas, fighting monsters with your sword and later a bow. Your main goal is to gather the scattered pieces of the Crystal Key to progress. It involves a lot of dungeon delving, solving simple block-pushing puzzles, and managing your health against frequent enemy attacks. The pacing can feel slow at times, and the difficulty spikes with some tricky enemy placements. Ultimately, it feels like a straightforward, sometimes challenging adventure from that era.
