Play Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 : Tara Online

Dragon Warrior Monsters 2: Tara came out for the Game Boy Color in 2001, developed and published by Enix. It was part of that late era for the handheld, when developers were really pushing what the little system could do with deep, complex RPGs. This one was a follow up to the first Dragon Warrior Monsters, building on the monster collecting and breeding ideas that were popular at the time.

You play as a young boy or girl who gets transported to the world of monsters. Your main goal is to explore a series of randomly generated dungeons, called "traveler's gates," to find special keys. These keys unlock new worlds and ultimately a way back home. The core of the game is capturing monsters in battle, then raising and breeding them to create new, more powerful species for your team. You manage a party of up to three monsters who fight automatically, while you issue general commands. The pacing is deliberate, focused more on strategy and team building than fast action. It feels like a thoughtful, long term project of building the perfect monster team.
