About Dragon Warrior Iii
Dragon Warrior III came out for the Game Boy Color in 2000, published by Enix. It was a solid RPG for the handheld, a time when you could carry a big adventure in your pocket. The game is actually a prequel to the first two, setting up the events that started the whole legend.
You create a hero and then recruit a party of characters, choosing their classes like a warrior or a mage. Your main goal is to defeat the archfiend Baramos, following in the footsteps of your father who failed before you. You explore the world screen by screen, fight monsters in turn-based battles, and delve into deep dungeons for key items. The pacing is deliberate, and some of the later dungeons are genuinely tough. It feels like you are building a small legend from the ground up with every step you take.
