About Dragon Tales : Dragon Wings
Dragon Tales: Dragon Wings came out for the Game Boy Color in 2000, published by NewKidCo. It was part of that wave of games based on children's cartoons, designed to be a straightforward adventure for a younger audience on the handheld. You don't see many people talking about it now, but it was there on the shelf alongside other licensed titles of the era.
You play as either Emmy or Max, the two kids from the show, exploring a world of floating islands. The main goal is to find and collect a bunch of magical dragon scales scattered across the levels. You move screen by screen, jumping across platforms and using a simple glide ability to cover wider gaps. A lot of the game involves finding the right path and avoiding environmental hazards, with a gentle difficulty curve that doesn't get too punishing. It feels like a calm, exploratory trip through a colorful world.
