About Dragon Crystal (europe)
Dragon Crystal came out for the Sega Master System, published by Sega. It was part of that wave of console RPGs that tried to translate complex computer genres into something you could play from your couch. You don't see many games like it on the system, which makes it stand out in a library full of action and platforming titles.
You control a young hero who must navigate a multi-level dungeon to find the legendary Dragon Crystal. Movement is turn-based and grid-based; every step you take allows the monsters on the screen to also move or attack. The dungeon layout is different every time you start a new game, and you'll find various swords, shields, and magical items to help you survive. You need to manage your health and hunger carefully, as starving is a real threat. The game is quite difficult, with permanent death forcing you to learn from each attempt.
