Dragon Crystal is one of those early roguelikes that somehow made the jump from PC to consoles without losing its charm. You wake up in this weird dungeon with nothing but a sword, and within five minutes you're already debating whether to eat that suspicious mushroom or save it for later—classic roguelike dilemmas.

The Master System version actually holds up pretty well, with colorful (if simple) sprites and that addictive "just one more floor" feeling. The Game Gear port's a bit cramped, but still playable if you're desperate for portable dungeon crawling. Pro tip: don't get too attached to your first few characters.

It's got that perfect balance of being straightforward enough to pick up, but brutal enough that you'll still yell at the screen when a bat kills your level 5 warrior.
